Default American Ironhorse In Alaska

Well I have waited 7 years for an American Ironhorse to show up for sale in Alaska and I got tired of waiting. I just flew into Dallas and bought an 07 Tejas and took a 4 day ride to Montana. I have had a few bikes in the past but I absolutly love this one. Had all the intentions to continue riding it all the way to Alaska but the ridgid took it toll and I got called back to work early. I will be riding it up later this fall. Sounds like there is quite the AIH family on this forum so I'm excited chat with you all.

Welcome to the forum, Casey! Glad you found us and sounds like you've got a nice steed to get you through the short riding season in Alaska! I spent 21 years up there (Eagle River) and decided to trade eight months of snow a year for eight months of rain a year here in Oregon...I don't think I accomplished that much!

Post some pictures up once you get the bike home!

I'd like to join the others in welcoming you to this group. You're right --- there is a large number of active AIH owners in the v2-forum.

Wow --- 4 days from Texas to Montana on a rigid Tejas. I'm quite sure my back couldn't take that ride. I'm sure you'll miss not having your bike with you for the rest of the summer. How long do you think it will take to finish the ride from Montana to your home in Alaska?

Default Thanks everyone

Thanks for all the replys. This seems like a great site...already picked up a ton of info on my bike. Really make me want to get my bike up now but I'm not sure when or how I will get it here. I want to ride it up but I have a friend coming up next week who offered to haul it up.

Let's see ---

CHOICE 1: Ride it from Montana to Alaska in the fall.
CHOICE 2: Have a friend haul it up for me next week.

If it was my decision, it would be an easy one to make! I'd want the bike sooner rather than later.

Let us know what you decide!!
